Police officer injured after being shot by militants in south Kashmir: Police

Srinagar: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police was injured after militants attacked him in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Wednesday evening.

A top police officer confirmed to Global News Agency that militants fired upon ASI identifying him as Mohd Ashraf, a resident of Awantipora leaving him critically injured with two bullet wounds in the neck and chest

He was shifted to SDH Bijbhera wherefrom he has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

Soon after the attack, police said that the whole area was cordoned off and searches were launched.
