Srinagar: On 26th January, the streets of Kashmir wore a deserted look and people mostly stayed indoors, marking a shutdown on India’s 73rd Republic Day.
The main markets remained shuttered down across valley, and the public transport was off the roads.
In view of the 26th Janauary event, mobile internet services were snapped across valleyfor the first half of the day.
The streets witnessed an intesnified deployement of armed forces personnel across Srinagar city.
Restrictions were put in place across Srinagar to curb vehicular movement, and commuters were frisked.
