Cop injured after being shot by militants in Shopian, says police

Shopian: A Jammu and Kashmir policeman was injured after being shot by militants at Amishijipora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.

Police officials said that the militants fired upon the JK Police personnel identified as Shabir Ahmad, leaving him critically injured.

The policeman was shifted to District hospital Shopian wherefrom he was shifted to SMHS hospital for advanced treatment, police said.

Meanwhile, police and the army have cordoned off the area and searches are going on.
