Shopian: An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing military operation in Chermarg Zainapora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
Police officials said that a militant has been killed in the ongoing operation, however, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, officials said that a joint team of Police and Army launched a cordon and search operation in Chermarg, Zainapora following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the officials said hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
