Bihar: Bhartiya Janta Party’s Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bihar Hari Bhushan Thakur has demanded that the Government of India (GoI) should “take away the right to vote from Muslims.”

“In 1947, the country was divided in the name of religion and they got another country. They should go to another country. If they are living here, then I demand from the government that their voting rights be withdrawn. They (Muslims) can live in India as second-class citizens,” claimed the BJP MLA Harishankar Thakur.

The BJP MLA alleged that Muslims were “running the agenda of ISI in the country and they are working on the agenda to make India an Islamic country.”

Thakur also denied that Muslims are a minority in this country and said that there is no word like a minority in the Constitution.

Earlier, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman had demanded that the Muslims in the country should be given rights based on their population.

Iman had said that the session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is starting from February 25 and during the session, none of his party MLAs will sing Vande Mataram.

The session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly begins with the national anthem of India Jana Gana Mana and ends with Vande Mataram.
