Two LeT militant associates held in Budgam, says police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two militant associates of Lashkar-i-Taiba outfit in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Police said that it along with 2RR and 179Bn CRPF have arrested two militant associates of outfit LeT from orchard area of Rathsun Beerwah, Budgam.

They have been identified as Wajid Yousuf Akhoon son of Mohammad Yousuf Akhoon resident of Rathsun Beerwah and Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh son of Wali Mohammad Sheikh resident of Kawoosa Khalisa, police said.

Incriminating materials of outfit LeT, arms and ammunition including one Chinese Pistol, 02 pistol magazines, 12 pistol rounds have been recovered from their possession, they said.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 35/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and an investigation has been initiated, reads the statement.
