Srinagar: A militant has been killed in an ongoing military operation in Srichan Batkoot area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said on Friday.
Police officials said that one militant has been killed in the ongoing operation, however, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, the operation started after a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Batkoot forest area of Pahalgam.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the officials said hiding militants fired upon the armed forces, triggering the operation.
