Pahalgam: With the killing of another militant in an ongoing military operation against militants in Srichan Batkote area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, the death toll has reached two, police said on Friday.
Two unidentified militants have been killed in the operation against militants, officials said. However, the identification of the slain is yet to be ascertained.
A senior police officer said that two unidentified militants have been killed, whose identification is being ascertained while the operation is still on in the area.
Earlier, the officials said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
