Shopian military Op: Two civilians, armed forces personnel injured

Shopian: Two civilians and an armed forces personnel were injured in an ongoing military operation in Pandoshan area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday, officials said.

“One Soldier has also got injured. He has been shifted to hospital for treatment. Further details shall follow,” police said in a tweet.

Earlier two civilians were injured, one of them critically, amid the operation which started after police and army launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in the area.

“During initial cordon and search operation, (militants) fired upon civilians and tried to escape, in which two civilians got injured.

“Both the injured shifted to hospital. One of them is critical,” police said in a tweet. “Cordon strengthened, details shall follow.”

In another tweet, police said both the injured civilians have been airlifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
