Construction of 1,025 transit accommodations for Kashmiri migrant employees completed: GoI

‘1,872 units at different stages of completion, work on rest going on’

Srinagar: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) India said that 1,025 transit accommodations for Kashmiri migrant employees have been completed while 1,872 units are at different stages of completion.

In a reply to a question by the parliamentarian, Digvijay Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) India, Nityanand Rai, said that the government of India approved the construction of 6,000 transit accommodations for Kashmiri migrant employees engaged or to be engaged in different districts of Kashmir valley under Prime Minister’s Development Package, 2015 (PMDP-2015) announced on 7-11-2015.

“Construction of 1,025 units has been completed/substantially completed, 1872 units are at different stages of completion, and work on remaining units has been taken up,” Rai said in a reply.
