18 schools named after armed forces personnel in JK

Srinagar: On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration issued a list of eighteen educational institutions which were given names after the armed forces personnel who were killed across the union territory.

In this regard, the JK administration also instructed the concerned authorities to ensure the naming of infrastructure.

According to an order, accessed by Free Press Kashmir, the administration has named the government schools after “martyrs and eminent personalities.”

“The School Education Department shall take immediate necessary steps including amending records for effecting the changes; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir/Jammu shall personally monitor the naming of infrastructure assets in their respective divisions; and Deputy Commissioner(s) shall ensure that suitable events are held in connection with the naming of these infrastructure assets,” reads the JK Admin’s order.
