Grenade attack in Budgam: Police says another involved militant arrested

Budgam: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested one more militant in connection with a grenade attack on the Minority community in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said.

In a handout, the police said that in a case of the grenade attack on a minority in Budgam in which 02 hybrid militants were arrested on Saturday (20th August-22). During the further course of investigation of said Case FIR number 147/2022, Budgam Police today arrested one more hybrid militant of prescribed outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba who is involved in a grenade attack on minorities.

The police spokesman further stated that incriminating material of Lashkar-e-Taiba and one hand grenade has been recovered from the possession of the arrested hybrid militant.

The arrested militant has been identified as Suhail Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Hamid Malik resident of Panzan Chadoora, he said.

Further investigation into the said case is going on, and more arrests and recoveries are expected, reads the statement.

It’s pertinent to mention that one Minority member was injured in the grenade attack at Gopalpora in Budgam district.
