Srinagar: Miwaiz Umar Farooq was not allowed to step out of his residence as he was scheduled to lead Friday prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.

“Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been barred from leaving his residence by a posse of Indian Forces. He was on his way to deliver the Friday sermon at the Jamia Masjid today, just a week after Governor Sinha said he was free,” Mirwaiz Manzil tweeted with photos of chief cleric being restricted by police personnel outside his residence.
