Fee fixation panel asks all JK private schools to submit files for fixing, regulating fee before Dec 31

Srinagar: The Government Fee Fixation Committee (GFFC) has asked the management of all private schools of Jammu and Kashmir to tender the required files for regulating and fixing the fee by December end.

GFFC in an order said, “In line with uniform academic Calendar, all private schools of Jammu and Kashmir are directed to submit files for fixation and regulation of fee before December 31 (before 03 months from the commencement of new academic session) along with the documents as prescribed in the proforma.”

It reads, “The failure to submit requisite information in terms of Rule 8 A and 8 C will attract action and ‘The committee shall recommend to the appropriate authority to bar the private school from taking any new admission for next academic year or to impose a fine equivalent to 10 percent of total revenue generated by the Private school or society in the preceding year, as applicable.”

GFFC further said, “In addition, the Committee may recommend to the appropriate authority for taking actions like taking over the management of the private school until it submits a proposal and once the management of the Private school has been taken over, the government shall appoint an administrator not below the rank of the sub-divisional magistrate as the administrative head of school to ensure its smooth functioning at the cost of schools funds.”

It also states that during this period, no further development, procurement or construction activities related to the education and safety of children. “The appropriate authority may withdraw permission and the recognition of the private school as per the procedure laid down”.
