15-16 Kg IED detected in Bandipora, BDS on spot: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that an Improvised Explosive device (IED) was detected in Astangoo area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A senior police officer told Global News Service that an IED approximately weighing 15-16 Kg fitted with two gas cylinders was detected in Astangoo area.

A team of Police, army and BDS rushed to the spot. BDS are examining the IED and soon it will be defused, the officer added.

Meanwhile, traffic has been halted temporarily in the area and searches are also going on.
