Admin forms panel to monitor infrastructure projects in JK

Srinagar: The administration has ordered the constitution of the project monitoring committee headed by the Chief Secretary for monitoring “key infrastructure projects” being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and to accelerate their pace of execution.

The ten-member committee comprises Principal Secretaries to Jal Shakti, Industries and Commerce,

Housing and Urban Development, Higher Education, Public Works (R&B), Power Development and Commissioner Secretary Information Technology Department, Secretary Planning Development & Monitoring (Member Secretary) and Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department.

“Any other Administrative Secretary/District Development Commissioner(s) may be co-opted as member of the Committee, as and when required,” reads an official statement.

The “UT PMG team” will help to expedite issues, resolution, and fast-tracking of approvals, and clearance of UT projects with an anticipated investment of Rs 10.00 crore or more, the order said. it has been tasked with monitoring key infrastructure projects being or to be executed at UT/District level.

“UT PMG admin user creates a different group with each district/department within the UT and on-board the admin users of each group,” the order reads, adding, “UT PMG admin user may decide agenda and issues to be discussed in the meeting with recipient district/department and generate meeting agenda document for the same. Meeting-related automated and customized notification/alerts can also be generated.”

UT PMG admin user must make sure that all the weekly, annual and quarterly reports are generated, analyzed and submitted on monthly basis to Chairman, the order said.

“If required, UT PMG admin user may send issues to Central PMG team for review,” it said, adding, “UT PMG admin user must make sure that District/Department meeting is held regularly, ideally with a periodicity of 30 days or as and when deemed necessary by the Chairman.”
