Baramulla: An armed forces personnel was injured in an ongoing military operation against militants in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
A top police officer told Global News Service that the operation started after a joint team of armed forces laid a cordon and search operation in Wanseeran Taripora area of the Baramulla district.
In the initial exchange of fire, one army personnel received a bullet wound in the leg and was later shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Earlier, the police in a tweet said, “Encounter has started at Wanseeran Taripora area of Baramulla. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”. (GNS)
