Srinagar: Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Tuesday said that three LeT militants including a foreigner were killed in a military operation against militants in the Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Three militants were killed in the Awantipora operation, police said. Police said that one foreign militant and one local militant of Lashkar-e-Taiba Mukhtiyar Bhat were involved in several crimes including the killing of an ASI of CRPF and two RPF personnel, police said.
“03 militants killed in Awantipora encounter. Identification being ascertained. As per our source, 1 is FT and1 local militant of LeT namely Mukhtiyar Bhat, involved in several militant crimes including the killing of 01 ASI of CRPF and 2 RPF personnel. A big success for us,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted while quoting ADGP Kashmir.
