Teachers not teaching higher classes shall observe winter vacation from December 1: JK Admin

Srinagar: Amid confusion among the government teachers of clubbed primary and middle schools regarding the winter vacations, the administration clarified that the teachers have to observe the vacations from December 01 only if they are not teaching the students of higher classes.

Top officials in the administration told news agency Kashmir News Observer that the teachers of the clubbed primary and middle schools who are teaching higher classes shall observe the winter vacations when all the schools are closed.

“All the teachers of clubbed primary schools who are not involved in teaching the immediate next level students shall observe the winter vacations from December-01 while as the teachers of clubbed primary and middle schools who are teaching higher classes in high, secondary or senior secondary schools shall observe the vacations from December 19,” the official said.

The official further said, “However, all those teachers of clubbed primary schools who are not involved in teaching the students of higher classes shall observe the winter vacation as per the schedule issued by the department.”

Earlier the administration had announced winter vacations for the winter zone of Kashmir and Jammu divisions in a phased manner between December 01 to December 19.

The administration had decided to close the primary level schools up to 5th standard from December 01 followed by middle-level classes from 6th to 8th from December 12 and higher classes from December 19 respectively.
