Hindu forces killed 186 Kashmiris this year, press in shackles, international probe needed: Simranjit Singh Mann

Amritsar: The Sangrur Member of Parliament and the SAD (Amritsar) president, Simranjit Singh Mann, on Sunday alleged that Hindu forces killed 186 Kashmiris in 2022.

He alleged that 186 Kashmiris were killed in 2022 by Hindu forces and there was no probe into the incidents.

He said the Supreme Court has kept mum regarding the issue. He said that there is chaos and the press is in shackles. He also sought an international probe. The parliamentarian said that he has been banned from visiting Kashmir.

“Union Hindu Indian forces kill 186 Kashmiris in 2022. No judicial probe for killings. Supreme Court mum. Still no solution in sight. I as Member of Parliament banned from visiting Kashmir. Absolute chaos press in shackles. Needs International probe,” Mann tweeted.

Earlier on Saturday, Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that a total of 172 militants including 42 foreigners were killed in 93 military operations in Valley this year.

While Quoting ADGP Kashmir, The Kashmir Zone Police in a series of tweets wrote, “During the year 2022, total 93 operations took place in Kashmir in which 172 militants including 42 foreign militants got killed. Maximum militants killed were from LeT/TRF(108) outfit followed by JeM (35), HM (22), Al-Badr (4) and AGuH(3) outfits”.

This year, 100 fresh recruitments into militant ranks were reported showing a decline of 37% compared to last year. Maximum (74) joined LeT. Out of total recruitment, 65 militants were killed in military operations, 17 militants were arrested and 18 militants are still active, police said.

The life span of newly recruited militants declined drastically. Out of total 65 newly recruited militants killed this year, 58 (89%) were killed within the first month of their joining, police said.

This year huge quantities of weapons (360) were recovered during operations and modules’ busting which include 121 AK series rifles, 08 M4 Carbine and 231 pistols. Besides, seizure of IEDs, sticky bombs and grenades, the tweet mentioned.

During the year, total of 26 armed forces personnel including 14 JKP personnel were killed during militant attacks/operations. The majority of militants involved in the attacks have been killed, the police added.
