Two militant associates held with grenades in Bandipora, says police

Bandipora: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two Lashkar-e-Taiba militant associates in Sumlar area of Bandipora and recovered incriminating material and two Chinese grenades from their possession.

Police in a statement said, “Acting on specific information regarding movement of militamt associates, Police along with Army (14RR) and CRPF (3rdBN) at a checkpoint established at Sumlar near Fisheries Farm Bandipora intercepted two suspected persons identified as Abrar Ahmad Wani @Abu Qadir and Danish Pervaiz, both residents of Sumlar Bandipora. During checking, two Chinese grenades and other incriminating material have been recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.”

Accordingly, a case FIR No 40/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bandipora and further investigation has been initiated.
