Baramulla: A minor died after an iron gate of a house fell on him due to alleged negligence of PDD employees in Khaja Bagh area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Reports said said that the boy, 10, who was in the courtyard of his house suddenly came under the iron gate which was put off for repairs by another house owner.
Family members of the boy alleged that PDD employees, who were installing meters in the area used the gate as stairs to install the meters, however, after losing balance the gate fell on the boy.
They alleged soon after the incident the employees fled from the spot.
The boy was later taken to a nearby hospital; however, doctors declared him dead.
When contacted AEE projects PDD Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad denied the allegations and said none of the employees was present there for any work.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the matter and started investigation. (KNS)
