Kashmiri Muslims celebrated Eid-al-Fitr on 22 April 2023, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Early morning in Srinagar, Thousands of people offered Eid prayers at Dargah Hazratbal shrine, Aali Masjid Downtown, Dast-e-Geer sahib shrine and Khanqah-e-Maula among other places.
Authorities disallowed Eid-al-Fitr prayers at Historic Jamia Masjid. Earlier authorities had said prayers will be allowed, on 21 April at eleventh hour news came about the closure of Jamia Masjid. People from different parts of Kashmir had come to offer special prayers at the historic Masjid, later they went to Dargah Hazratbal Bal and Khanqah-e-Maula.
