Youth dies of ‘drug overdose’ in Bandipora; one held: Police

‘One arrested, investigation on’

Bandipora: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said that the preliminary investigation into the mysterious death of Bandipora youth, whose body was recovered, suggested that the death has occurred due to drug overdose.

A senior police officer told the news agency Kashmir News Observer that one accused identified as Qaisar Aejaz Waza, son of Aejaz Ahmad Waza of Bagh Bandipora, who had given him the drug doses and disposed off his dead body, has been arrested in the said case.

He further said that a formal case under sections 304, 201, IPC has been registered while further investigation is going on.

Pertinently, on Thursday, the body of Junaid Baba, son of Tariq Ahmad Baba, a resident of Bagh locality of the district was found under the Gamroo-Gundkaiser bridge near a rivulet.
