Nearly 10,000 women reported missing in JK in two years

Srinagar: The government of India revealed that 9,765 women have gone missing from Jammu and Kashmir between 2019 and 2021 and no trace of them has been found yet.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra presented a report on missing girls and women across the country in the Rajya Sabha recently.

In these three years, there were 1,148 cases of missing girls below the age of 18 and 8,617 women aged above 18.

According to the report, Jammu and Kashmir has the second highest number of missing women in the Union Territories category after Delhi. It is followed by Chandigarh at the third position.
