Srinagar: Lal Ded maternity hospital in Srinagar had a severe administrative lapse as a fake doctor posing as cardiologist attended patients in the delivery room for three days.
This raised serious concerns about the facility’s security procedures and the safety of its patients.
The hospital administration has started an investigation to find out how the impostor got unapproved entry to the hospital.
He was apprehended by cops and his family has been summoned to the police station.
Dr Muzaffer Sherwani, the medical director of Lal Ded Maternity Hospital, told the Kashmir Observer that they are looking into the situation and have asked the security chief for an explanation.
The fake doctor was in the hospital’s labour room and the concerned officials including the Chief Medical Officer found him doing rounds and checking the patients in the wards, Dr Sherwani was quoted further saying.
