Srinagar: In view of Eid-e-Milad un Nabi (ﷺ), Srinagar’s Smart City initiative has introduced electric buses along specific routes, marking a significant step in their ongoing route trials and facilitatiing the travellers on this blessed occassion.
The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Athar Amir Khan and extended an invitation to the public, urging them to participate in this initiative and provide valuable feedback on the newly introduced electric buses.
A total of eight routes have been meticulously designated for the operation of 20 specially designated buses in Srinagar.
Commencing from September 28th and continuing through September 29th, these buses will cater to the transportation needs of residents and pilgrims alike during the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad un Nabi (ﷺ).
The selected routes are Lal Chowk-Hazratbal, Dalgate-Hazratbal, Hyderpora, Parimpora, Soura, Chanpora, Bemina Chowk, and Harwan.
To accommodate those attending Fajr prayers, the service is set to commence at 6:30 am, while those attending Isha prayers can rely on the service, which will run until 9:00 pm.
This initiative is poised to make the city’s public transportation system even more accessible and efficient during this significant religious event.
