‘Committee constituted to enquire matter’

Anantnag: A woman from Dooru area of Anantnag allegedly died of medical negligence at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag while the authorities here have constituted a committee to probe the matter.

Relatives of the woman from Qamar Dooru told Kashmir News Observer that they were waiting for her echocardiogram, or “echo”, from morning 10 am to 3:30 pm and were not even allowed to enter the room where echo is being done.

“While waiting for the turn, she died and even doctors at the hospital told us that she died of low oxygen level,” they said.

“It is negligence on part of the staff and authorities must investigate the matter and take action against the staff involved in the negligence,” they said.

Meanwhile, an official of the hospital told KNO that they have constituted a committee to enquire into the matter.

“We will definitely take action against the persons involved in any kind of negligence,” he assured.
