Srinagar: Following the allocation of 5 marlas of land to” landless people” in Jammu and Kashmir as part of the PMAY-G scheme, the administration led by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has made a decision to offer land at reduced rates to Kashmiri Pandit employees in Srinagar.
This initiative aims to facilitate their reintegration and resettlement in the Valley, as reported by The Indian Express.
During a gathering of migrant Kashmiri Pandits at the ongoing construction site of the Bhaderkali temple in Devi Angan Thalwal, Jammu on Ram Navmi, Sinha declared that the administration would ensure the provision of land at affordable prices for the construction of their own homes in Srinagar, with the intention of enabling them to permanently reside in Kashmir.
Sinha also mentioned the appointment of a dedicated officer in the LG Secretariat to address the concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Furthermore, he highlighted that community members could approach the Divisional Commissioner, ADGP, IGP, and relevant Deputy Commissioner with their issues, ensuring that their matters would receive immediate attention.
The Lt Governor instructed Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation KK Sidha to facilitate the regular allocation of completed transit accommodations to Pandit employees in the valley.
The administration is currently establishing transit accommodations in various locations across central, south, and north Kashmir for migrant Pandit employees.
