Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen suspected to be militants fired upon a cop near Eidgah area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday.
“Militants fired upon & injured Inspector Masroor Ahmad near Eidgah, Srinagar. He was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation reveals that a pistol was used in this terror crime. Area cordoned off, case registered,” Srinagar Police wrote on X on Sunday.
Later, the area was cordoned off by armed forces and searches were started.
