Bullet-ridden body of non-local man found in Pulwama, says police

Pulwama: The body of a non-local with bullet wounds has been found in Nowpora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Monday afternoon.

According to the officials, who spoke to Global News Service, the body was sighted by some passersby lying at Tumchi Nowpora and later a team of police reached the site and took the body into its possession.

Confirming the recovery of the body, a police official identified the deceased as Mukesh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh. “We are ascertaining the cause of death of the person,” the official told GNS.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police in a post on X said that Mukesh Kumar of UP was shot at by terrorists in Nowpora today afternoon. Soon after the labourer was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead. The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers

“Militants fired upon one labourer identified as Mukesh of U.P in Tumchi Bandipora area of Pulwama, who later on succumbed to his injuries. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” the post mentioned.
