Western disturbance to trigger rain, snowfall in JK: IMD

Srinagar: A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of November 7, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Under its influence, light rainfall/snowfall at isolated places is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh during the period from November 7 to November 9, 2023.

As per IMD, a trough of low in easterlies lies over Southwest and the adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast in lower tropospheric levels.

Under its influence, light to moderate, widespread to fairly widespread rainfall is very likely over south Peninsular India during the next seven days.
