Srinagar-Jammu highway closed due to shooting stones in Ramban

Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, only surface link that connects Kashmir with outside world, was closed for traffic on Monday after shooting stones, officials said here.

Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, said that the traffic from both sides has been halted on the highway at T2 Ramban due to shooting stones

It further said that people are advised to ask TCUs before proceeding on Srinagar-Jammu highway. Police said that men and machinery have been mobilised to swiftly clear the road.

Earlier on Friday, the highway was closed following mudslides and shooting stones in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.

Giving details, a traffic police official had said that the road was closed for traffic after mudslides at Mehad and shooting stones at T-2 Ramban.
