10 JK cricketers shortlisted for IPL 2024, auction next month in Dubai

Srinagar: Ten cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir have been shortlisted for the upcoming IPL auction scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19.

The prominent franchises have expressed interest in these players, providing them with a considerable opportunity to participate in the IPL next year.

A total of 590 players, including Mujtaba Yousuf, Rasikh Salam, Parvez Rasool, Qamran Iqbal, Fazil Rashid, Henan Malik, Abid Mushtaq, Nasir Lone, Auqib Nabi, and Vivrant Sharma from JK, are among those shortlisted.

Mujtaba, who previously served as a net bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, stands a good chance of securing a permanent spot in one of the teams this time. Rasikh Salam, who underwent a ban for age fudging, had consistent training at the Mumbai Indians academy before the suspension.

Parvez Rasool, having gone unsold in the past three auctions, has once again entered the auction with a base price of Rs 50 lakh.Abid Mushtaq, Auqib Nabi, and Nasir Lone have received trial invitations from various franchises, indicating their potential inclusion in the league.

Additionally, Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained two J&K cricketers, Abdul Salad and Umran Malik, in their squad for Rs 4 crore each.
