Jammu: Indian Army on Saturday said that an infiltration bid was foiled along the International Border in Akhnoor area of Jammu and that militants were seen “dragging one body back.”

“Infiltration bid foiled in IB sector of Khour, Akhnoor. Suspected move of four terrorists seen through own surveillance devices on the night of December 22/23. Effective fire brought down. Terrorists seen dragging one body back across the IB,” Indian Army’s White Knight Corps said in a tweet.

Earlier, five armed forces personnel lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries in a militant ambush on two Indian Army vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

The attack occurred between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz during transportation for a cordon-and-search operation. The forces personnel were going to reinforce a joint operation against militants going on in the area while Army personnel also immediately retaliated after being attacked.
