Baramulla: A local court in Sopore has convicted a university professor in a sexual harassment case registered against him by police in December 2022. He has been awarded one year jail term.
Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Professor and Head Division of Agriculture extension and communication, faculty of Agriculture, Wadura had been suspended by SKUAST Srinagar after students protested against him for his alleged misconduct and sexual harassment of a female student in December 2022.
The convicted professor had been arrested and an FIR had been lodged at police station Bomai Sopore.
