Dumka: A Spanish woman was allegedly gang-raped in the Hansdiha police station area of Dumka in Jharkhand, late on Friday night.
According to reports quoting sources, the woman was on a tour of India with her husband. On Friday night, they were traveling to Bhagalpur via Dumka on a motorcycle.
Around 12 am, they halted at a location called Kunji-Kurumahat near Hansdiha market, where a group of eight to ten persons reportedly arrived and subjected the woman to a gang rape. There is information that the husband and wife were also beaten up.
The woman was later admitted to a hospital, and Dumka SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar personally visited the scene. Three people have reportedly been taken into custody for questioning.
According to available information, the couple had arrived in Dumka, Jharkhand, from Spain via Pakistan and Bangladesh.
