Con woman held, cops recover ATMs, cash and gold: Srinagar police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said to have arrested a woman in Srinagar for allegedly cheating gullible citizens through different means.

In a statement, police said that a woman named Zeenat, daughter of Ghulam Ahmad Pampori, a resident of Saraibala area of Srinagar, has been arrested for cheating gullible citizens by swapping ATM cards while posing as help outside ATMs.

FIR no 17/2024 u/s 379,420 under Indian Penal Code was registered at police station Khanyar, Police wrote in a post on X platform.

“30 ATM cards, Rs 39,130 and gold items were recovered from her possession,” the statement added.
