Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei commended the country’s armed forces for their performance following Tehran’s recent direct attack on Israel.
During a meeting with Iranian military commanders, Khamenei lauded the “success in recent events” of the armed forces, referring to Iran’s first-ever direct attack on Israel from its own territory, Al Jazeera reported.
Khamenei emphasised that the demonstration of Iran’s power during the operation was paramount, irrespective of the number of missiles launched or their accuracy in hitting targets.
He urged military officials to focus on innovation, learning from the enemy’s tactics, and maximising gains while minimising costs in future operations.
The attack by Iran was a response to a suspected Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in casualties, including two IRGC generals.
