LS polls: 23.57% voter turnout till 1pm in Srinagar

Srinagar: As the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections progresses, overall voter turnout in Srinagar till 1pm was 23.57%, the Election Commission of India (ECI) said on Monday.

In Central Shalteng, the voter turnout stands at 15.97%, Chadoora constituency recorded a turnout of 32.60%, Char-e-Shareef witnessed 34.89%.

Channapora reports a turnout of 13.36%, Eidgah 17.79%, Ganderbal constituency recorded a turnout of 31.97%. Habba Kadal has the lowest turnout so far at 9.50%. Hazratbal 16.96%.

Kangan (ST) has the highest turnout at 36.62%. Khan Sahib reports a turnout of 32.00%. Khanyar reports a turnout of 14.12%. Lal Chowk has witnessed a turnout of 16.87%.

Pampore has recorded a turnout of 23.45%, Pulwama has seen a turnout of 25.99%, Rajpora 28.01%. Shopian has recorded a turnout of 28.94%, Tral 23.55% and Zadibal  18.59%.

Polling is underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency where 24 candidates are in the fray, officials said on Monday. This marks the first parliamentary polls since the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
