Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief R R Swain described the police force as crucial in the fight against militancy, stating that no war against militants can be won without them.

At an event to regularise nine special police officers to constables, recognising their role in killing two militants in Kathua, Swain emphasised that recent militant attacks have not weakened the force’s resolve.

“The Jammu and Kashmir Police is like a sword against the militant ecosystem. Victory in this war cannot be achieved without it,” he said.

Swain also noted that JK administration supports the police and has equipped them with advanced weaponry.

Despite recent attacks, including a June 12 operation in Kathua where two militants and a CRPF personnel were killed, Swain assured that the police will ultimately defeat the militants. “We will defeat them. It is our resolve,” he stated.
