Patna: In Bihar’s Saran district, a jilted lover and his accomplice killed three members of a family and injured another on Wednesday after they objected to his involvement with their minor daughter.
The suspects, identified as Sudhanshu Kumar (alias Raushan) and Ankit Kumar, carried out the attack in Dhanadih village under Rasoolpur police station. The incident came to light when the injured mother managed to alert local police about the triple murder, IANS reported.
According to police reports, Sudhanshu Kumar had been romantically involved with one of the victim’s minor daughters, Tarkeshwar Singh. When Singh and his wife discovered the affair, they counseled their daughter to avoid further contact with Sudhanshu. In response, Sudhanshu Kumar allegedly began threatening the family.
On the night of the incident, Tarkeshwar Singh, his wife, and their two minor daughters were sleeping on the rooftop of their house. Sudhanshu Kumar and Ankit Kumar climbed onto the rooftop after midnight. Although one of Singh’s daughters spotted them and raised an alarm, the attackers had already begun their assault with sharp-edged weapons.
The accused fatally stabbed Tarkeshwar Singh and his two daughters, who died at the scene. Singh’s wife, despite sustaining stab wounds, managed to escape.
Following the incident, local police swiftly arrested both suspects. An official spokesperson from Saran police stated, “Upon receiving reports of the triple murder, a team from Rasoolpur police station reached the crime scene and apprehended the two suspects within one hour. They have confessed to the crime, and we have seized the weapons used. The FSL team has been called to gather evidence, and senior officers have recommended a speedy trial.”
