Srinagar: Senior advocate and former general secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, was arrested from his residence in Rawalpora and booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA), officials said on Thursday.
Bhat was taken into custody late Wednesday night and subsequently transferred to Kathua jail in the Jammu region. He is the third senior member of the Bar Association to be arrested under similar charges.
Previously, former Bar president Nazir Ahmad Ronga was arrested last week and booked under the PSA, while another former president, Mian Abdul Qayoom, was arrested last month in connection with the 2020 murder of Advocate Babar Qadri.
