‘Rising militant activities’: Army commander reviews operations in Doda, Kishtwar ahead of August 15

Doda: Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, Army commander Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar on Tuesday visited different areas of Doda and Kishtwar districts to assess forces’ deployment.

In a post on X, northern command, said that Gen Suchindra visited forward locations of counter insurgency force (Delta) and interacted with forces personnel.

“Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar visited forward locations of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) in Doda and Kishtwar area to review the ongoing anti-terrorist operations being conducted in light of increased terrorist activity in the region.”

The army said that he assessed the options for deployment of additional forces being inducted into the area and emphasised on synergy with the police and para military forces.

“The Army commander exhorted all ranks to maintain a high tempo of operations, ensuring security and safety for ongoing and upcoming events,” it added. (KNO)
