At least 50 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, bringing the total death toll since October 7 to 40,223, according to the Health Ministry in the conflict-ravaged enclave on Wednesday.
The ministry also reported that approximately 92,981 people have been injured in the ongoing assault.
The statement highlighted that Israeli forces killed 50 individuals and injured 124 others in four separate “massacres” of families within the last 24 hours.
“Many people remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers struggle to reach them,” the ministry added.
Israel has continued its relentless offensive on the Gaza despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.
More than ten months into the conflict, large areas of Gaza have been reduced to ruins, exacerbated by a severe blockade on food, clean water, and medical supplies.
Israel is facing genocide charges at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered a halt to military operations in Rafah, a southern city where over one million Palestinians had sought refuge before it was invaded on May 6.
