The Palestinian group Fatah reported on Wednesday that one of its military leaders was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon.
According to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah’s armed wing, Khalil al-Makdah was killed in Sidon while fulfilling his duties in support of the Palestinian people and their resistance, Anadolu Agency reported.
Lebanon’s National News Agency stated that al-Makdah died when an Israeli drone targeted his car in the Villas area of Sidon.
The Israeli military confirmed the assassination of al-Makdah in an airstrike on Sidon, releasing a statement that claimed he and his brother Munir had been collaborating with Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for years to conduct attacks against Israel.
The army also released footage of the airstrike that killed al-Makdah. Fatah is led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
