Samajwadi Party defends Moid Khan, says conspiracy being hatched against Khan
Ayodhya: Over three weeks after the arrest of rape suspect Moid Khan, a bakery owner and city president of the Samajwadi Party’s Bhadarsa town, Ayodhya district authorities have demolished a portion of his shopping complex. The demolition was due to the illegal construction of the building on government land, Hindustan Times reported.
Moid Khan and his accomplice, Raju Khan, were arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old daily wage employee at Khan’s bakery over a period of two months. The assault was uncovered when the victim became pregnant.
The incident took place in Bhadarsa town under the jurisdiction of the Purakalandar police station. In response to the handling of the case, the Ayodhya police administration has suspended Purakalandar’s station house officer, Ratan Sharma, and the Bhadarsa police outpost in-charge, Akhilesh Gupta.
Both accused, Moid Khan and Raju Khan, remain in custody as investigations continue. However, the Samajwadi Party has defended Moid Khan in the case, claiming that a conspiracy is being hatched against him.
