Imphal: Major clashes erupted between students of Manipur University and security forces in Kakwa, Imphal West, despite a curfew.
Visuals showed uniformed students throwing stones at security personnel, who responded with tear gas. The curfew was imposed by district magistrates in Imphal East and West due to the deteriorating law and order situation stemming from ongoing ethnic clashes.
The curfew, effective from 11:00 am on September 10, canceled a prior relaxation order that had allowed movement from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. However, essential services such as health, power, courts, and media were exempt from the restrictions.
