New Delhi: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will celebrate his 74th birthday on September 17 with various events across the country.

In Ajmer Sharif, the Dargah will mark the occasion by preparing 4,000 kilograms of vegetarian langar. As part of the “Sewa Pakhwada” initiative, this continues the 550-year tradition of using the historic “Big Shahi Deg” to serve food, according to Dargah officials, as reported by cnbctv18.

Businesses in Gujarat are offering discounts from 10% to 100%. BJP member Purnesh Modi explained that this tradition pays tribute to the Prime Minister’s legacy. Over 2,500 local entrepreneurs will participate, with 110 auto-rickshaws in Surat providing free rides on September 16, a day before the birthday, according to Surat Auto Union President Raju Bhandari.

Surat shoppers are excited for the discounts tied to the birthday celebrations, coinciding with the festive season. In Chennai, 13-year-old Presley Shekinah has created a portrait of Modi using grains and lentils, spending 12 hours on this artistic tribute.
