‘Leave country immediately’: Amid deadly Israeli airstrikes, India urges citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon

Israel continues airstrikes on Lebanon.

The Indian Embassy in Beirut has issued an advisory strongly advising Indian citizens to avoid travelling to Lebanon until further notice due to recent Israeli airstrikes and communication disruptions.

The Embassy has also urged Indian nationals currently residing in Lebanon to leave the country immediately, while advising those who must remain to exercise extreme caution and stay in contact with the Embassy amid the worsening situation.

“In light of the recent escalations and as a follow-up to the August 1, 2024 advisory, Indian nationals are strongly advised against traveling to Lebanon until further notice,” the Embassy stated on Wednesday.

They also advised Indian citizens still in Lebanon to leave the country and to limit their movements while maintaining communication with the Embassy via email at [email protected] or the emergency phone line +96176860128.

This advisory follows a September 24 report by the Lebanese Health Ministry, which confirmed that Israeli military strikes have killed at least 558 people in Lebanon, including 50 children, and injured 1,835 others, according to Al Jazeera.

Notably, Israel continued striking Lebanon p. The Israel Defense Forces said the Air Force struck more than 1,600 targets in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley.
